In 2019, Dick and Nancy completed “Bixler’s Art Barn and Studio." The 1500+ square foot building (with 780 sq. ft covered outdoor walkway) acts as a gallery space for their metal artwork, in addition to serving as a unique living and entertainment area. The interior is complete with a bar, fridge, serving and lounge area. The main space features a murphy bed made from century old wood from Nancy’s family farm as well as an upstairs sleeping loft. Bixler’s art can be easily recognized throughout the entire building as his work is built into the furniture, railings, and fixtures. The working studio is located just next door to the art barn, separated only by horse stables, which also feature his handmade steel artwork.
When visiting the Art Barn we would like each of you to be drawn into an artistic experience which will allow you to slow down your busy schedule and focus on where each piece is taking you. Our metal art is meant to bring out the positive in everyone! This art is designed for visitors to escape, dream, enjoy, and reflect on their priorities in life. Our art has been influenced by our desire to assist people in all walks of life. In 1989, we started World Patent Development Company with the focus to invent, design, engineer, develop, fabricate proto-types and not only have the final product but to have a patent on the invention. Our patents and artwork are two completely different areas, but in our situation the patents have influenced our artwork and vice-versa. We live in the country on the edge of Pratt, Kansas. Country living has a calming effect, which inspires our artwork. Our art pieces rotate on display in the new Art Barn. A visit to the Art Barn may help one refocus their priorities and appreciation of life. We hope to offer inspiration into what each of us can offer others in life. Our artwork is made to remind you each day of the unique, one of a kind qualities that each of you possess. Hopefully, we will inspire you to find happiness in the great qualities that you have. We hope to see you soon, Dick and Nancy Bixler
